A local independent power firm AKUS Solar Power Enterprise has expressed interest to invest US$300 for renewable energy projects in the country.
The company wants to establish solar farms in 7 out of the country’s 10 Provinces.
Each farm will have an installed capacity to generate 200 megawatts to be fed into the national grid.
AKUS Solar Power Enterprise CEO Rajesh Makhani told Zanis that the ministry of energy has since approved the plan.
Adding that a memorandum of understanding has already been signed between the firm and ZESCO.
