Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic has included veteran forward James Chamanga and youngster Peter Chikola in his provisional squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Asanovic has named a 23 member squad for a local camp ahead of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group H match against the Elephants on June 3.
42-year-old Chamanga will also be part of the backroom staff to mentor young players. The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner helped Red Arrows to their first title since 2004.
NAPSA Stars forward Jimmy Mukeya has returned to the squad. The former Zambia U-20 forward is among the players summoned for the camp.
ZESCO United striker Enock Sakala Jnr has also received a call up alongside regulars, Kelvin Kapumbu, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Spencer Sautu, Moses Phiri and Benedict Chepeshi.
Young defender Miguel Chaiwa is also among the players summoned.
Surprisingly Green Eagles midfielder Hosea Silwimba who has been impressive for the Kawale Boys in the just ended Super League season misses out.
The local camp kicks off on Tuesday with foreign based players joining at different stages in line with the conclusion of their various leagues.
