Andrew Kamanga has said FAZ is going through budgetary constraints and as such, they are unable to hire under-age national team coaches on full time.
Writing in his weekly column, the FAZ President also said that the association is keeping tabs on the under-23 and under-20 preparation on their respective upcoming fixtures.
“Our long-term goal is to hire full time coaches for all our national teams however, in the short term we must work within the budgetary constraints,” Kamanga wrote
The hiring of national teams coaches on full time was Kamanga’s campaign promises.
But into his second term, coaches are drawn from clubs on part time basis.
Currently Red Arrows’ Technical Director Osward Mutapa head the under-23 bench while Chisi Mbewe, Arrows head coach is in-charge of the under-20 side.
The two national teams are currently in camp preparing for the Olympics and Cosafa/AFCON U20 qualifiers.
“We are also keeping a closer eye on the under-23 and under-20 projects that are very critical for us as they are qualifiers for continental competitions.
“Our appointments of the technical benches reflect the seriousness we attach to these projects,” he added
