FAZ President Andrew Kamanga has revealed that Zambia won’t have a high profile coach because of limited resources.
FAZ only has about $25,000 for an expatriate coach with government contributing around $10,000.
“We are also conscious that we do not have the luxury of hiring a coach on the top end of the market given our budgetary limitations,” Kamanga wrote on his weekly column.
“Our desire is that we should have a coach in good time before the qualifiers next year.
“We will however identify a coach who will meet our aspirations and expectations for the targets we have set out.
Former Chipolopolo assistant coach Patrice Beaumulle has been linked with the job.
Local coaches Wedson Nyirenda, George Lwandamina and Patrick Phiri have all expressed their desire to coach the Chipolopolo Boys.
“On the technical bench, we have opened consultations with key stakeholders to provide a roadmap for appointing the next Chipolopolo coach.
